Not knowing what a Cortado is, I had to look it up:

So, according to wikipedia, you made a Caffe Macchiato, not a Cortado

Yes, only because I added the foam to it. It was such lovely foam and I didn’t want to waste it 🙂
But it was a Cortado up to that point. Oh, and if you research a bit like we did you will find that there really isn’t a definitive standard and each person you ask gives their own definition. An Italian friend’s explanation ended with “and really it’s just a way to mask the inferior espresso they have”. I’m not getting into that argument!
Speaking of Macchiatos, I’ve been trying to get my foam foo up to Cafe Cento’s snuff. Man, they’re good!
