The Surf City crew pulled us up on to the top of the mountain to race at the CAL FIRE Training Center. Last year’s race at this venue was dry and dusty! Lucky for us that it rained earlier in the week and the conditions were far better. Still some dust kicking up later in the day but overall the conditions were good. The sun didn’t want to participate though. Overcast and chilly most of the day. Good when racing but tough before and after.
Here’s the open single-speed race. Always a good group of fast and fun racers. Right from the start the field was stretched out. And with a mix of tight corners like the Swirlly of Death ™ and long fast straight windy sections we all had our work cut our for us.
As usual, it was a blast and the Surf City crew did a marvelous job. Looking forward the finals at the fairgrounds.
